About CMO & Cetyl Myristoleate
Cetyl myristoleate is the main active ingredient in CMO. It's a fatty acid ester, the cetyl ester of myristoleic acid. Dr. Sands explains that “cerasomol-cis-9-cetyl myristoleate” means “cetyl myristoleate with naturally associated fatty acids in a ‘body of wax’.” The “cis-9” distinguishes it from trans fats.
The main active ingredients in CMO are a naturally associated group of cetylated fatty acids (CFA) that have been extracted from US beef tallow and esterified. The primary group of CFAs are cetyl myristoleate, cetyl myristate and cetyl oleate which compose a waxy ester.
